Passport documents
We currently deal with a high level of attempted passport fraud across South Asia. To tackle this our specialist fraud prevention teams run a range of additional checks and verifications on passport applications.
This means that we ask for a range of additional documents to support your claim and identity. We apologise for the inconvenience but these measures are necessary to prevent fraud and a range of other offences. Further information is available on passports page.
In India the documentation required depends on the type of application being made.
Further details are in the sections below:
- Straight forward passport renewal for adults
- Renewal for children under 16
- First time passport application for minors
- First time passport application for adults
- Renewals after a lapse period of over five years
